I've officially been accepted to my top 3!

And I don't want to brag about scholarships, but... ^_^

I think its pretty cool that most of the people reading this don't know who I am, but have the opportunity to see me from my first digital creations to my amateur hobby to the stylings of an official interaction design student.

Just sayin.


I'm beginning to think that I should actually learn photoshop, so that when i go to college I can actually participate.  It would be a sorta funny sight to see a class full of people on photoshop, and then one guy fiddling in inkscape.


Ah, this is an ethical dilemma!

If you are wondering why I havent posted any new art in a couple of months, its because I haven't really done any. I feel like its a combination of a couple of things:

1.  My computer is becoming slow.  The amount of patience it takes to use inkscape makes it not worth it.
2.  I take ritalin for a non-hyperactive variety of ADD.  After being overmedicated this past spring, I am now taking much less.
3.  Akumin is nothing but technical improvements at this point, which don't exactly excite me.
4.  I've been focusing on my music making, which you can experience in bad quality here: www.myspace.com/ferrofluidmusic

Good news, I was accepted to my two top choice schools for interaction design: Parsons and SCAD!

I'm going to try to restore my akumin ambitions, work on the icons, and I'm recruiting new programmers, designers, and themers!!!!!


Also, I've begun work on a new desktop concept called Sabra.  Its a radical new look in comparison to what I've done.  Be prepared!

So yes, busy busy.

Thanks to numerous computer crashes, the UI and website have been delayed.  HOWEVER, we are otherwise on schedule.  Because of akumin's esoteric nature, we're going to release a series of private betas and review feedback on the usability, aesthetics, ease, and enjoyability of the distro.  It's a truly impressive OS, and while it is a work in progress, it's already bringing crazy ideas to the table.

Our project now consists of 7 devoted contributors, with myself as head and as a #2.  We can get done what we want, which is a truly amazing feeling.

I thought about it and realized that the akumin concept has always been a combination of desktop and touchphone, the latter of which became abandoned.

So, i figure I'd have a little fun and make an akumin theme for ipod touch and iphone.
